The coaches behind the Next Level Loan Officers have been in the mortgage industry, originating loans for decades. Still active in the industry, each of the coaches is still deep in the trenches, originating loans, leading their teams, and/or managing highly successful branches in multiple states.
Ken and his best friend were sitting in their new office. It’s 2007. The office is really a closet. Steve and Woz started in a garage, so they figured a closet was as good a place as any.
Ken had convinced his friend they would make amazing money and not be cubicle slaves if they just took a chance together. “We are going to take over the mortgage world! Make millions! Be famous! Crazy Adventures!”
What he really wanted was to not fall flat on his face; make enough money so his wife could stop supporting them, and make good on his Marine Corps mentality to put others first, be better than everyone else and never leave a man behind.
It’s been an amazing ride. What has he learned so far? Without family, it means nothing. Support systems are everything. Integrity is everything. Running a successful mortgage branch is hard, but very rewarding. If you don’t change, you die. Never stop moving, even when things are really messed up and failure looks very possible. There’s always a way forward. Many times, the best way forward is to ask for help from someone who has already been there. Ken has been there.
Thousands of families have been helped by his company. He and his team are well known in the community for their hard work, charitable involvement, and the best BBQ ribs in East Texas.
Helping others reach success in the mortgage business is one of his greatest achievements. As a top producer, nationally recognized originator and manager, Ken’s greatest wins are in developing the talents of others: helping them find their way to more freedom, closing more loans without working nights and weekends and mapping out the path to financial freedom.
When not conquering the mortgage world, you will find Ken hanging with his wife, taking his two boys to ball practice, driving his tractor around the farm, working in his big garden, fishing, and vacationing around the world.
Kicking off his career in the mortgage industry, Kellen was first introduced to real estate in 2001 while working for a local property management company, which culminated in obtaining his real estate brokers license in 2004. Realizing that the mortgage industry was broken, and the need for ethical, high integrity lenders with proven systems was through the roof, Kellen transitioned from real estate into mortgage in 2012.
It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, though. Having created and installed many proven and repeatable systems and processes into his real estate brokerage, Kellen was able to leverage his experience in creating complex workflows to simplify and systematize his mortgage process.
But he knew what he didn’t know… and he was determined to figure it out.
So, Kellen leaned heavily on a close group of mentors and coaches that helped guide him through some of the tough ‘freshman years’ in his mortgage business. Kellen Vaughan is a current branch manager with Trademark Mortgage in Fort Worth, Texas.
Since his first foray into the mortgage business in 2012, Kellen has grown his business into 5 states with over 30 loan officers and staff that he oversees daily. His passion for building systems and processes that make the operation perform at its highest level while delivering a superior experience to the clients as lead to his astronomical growth.
Because of the coaches and mentors that helped Kellen along the way, his greatest passion has been giving back to mortgage community by helping loan officers who struggle building their teams, have trouble with time management, and taking their business to the next level.
Kellen currently resides in Keller, Texas with his wife Ellen and three young sons.
Sean entered the mortgage industry in 2002, where he spent the better part of his first year in the business learning all of the tips, habits, and ‘best practices’ that he has since determined to be the underlying reason why the mortgage industry is broken.
He knew there had to be a better way to run a business, so Sean started forging a new path for himself and his team, that lead him to the world of business and mortgage coaching. Sean now manages several mortgage offices throughout the country that produce over $100 Million in production, helping hundreds of people achieve the American Dream.
Harnessing his greatest passion, helping loan officers, entrepreneurs, and business owners, Sean became a founding owner in Next Level Loan Officers, a coaching platform that not only helps people in their business but all four pillars of their life.
Sean’s mission through coaching loan officers is to help them achieve a work-life balance in an industry that has lied to them and told them they need to be on call 24/7. By deploying his systems and strategies, he’s helped LOs and branch managers build a better work environment, more support, and better systems while installing the technology to achieve it all.
Proving that he’s not just a one-trick pony, Sean has also consulted with chiropractors and the top brass in distribution product industries. The systems he teaches, the way he unpacks complex ideas, and the way he incorporates all four pillars of one’s being, are universal principles that span industry.
When not leading his mortgage business or coaching loan officers, Sean is an active real estate investor who owns both commercial and residential property, as well as flips homes. During his down time, Sean enjoys being in the outdoors with his wife and two sons. As an avid baseball fan, Sean loves making memories with his family in the stands, rooting for the home team, the St. Louis Cardinals!
After taking a huge gamble and retiring early from being a professional fireman, thus forgoing his pension, Shane moved forward with one of the most daunting tasks he could ever imagine — sacrificing job security to attain another dream: becoming a full-time entrepreneur.
Shane bet on himself, hired a business coach and went all in on being an entrepreneur. His path is not a normal one and he wouldn’t have it any other way. In his first 5 years (full time) he has been selected as a Top 1% Mortgage Originator, managed a team to over 300 million in loans last year, their 4th full year in the business and owns and operates complimentary businesses across the country including P&C insurance, multi-family housing and private investing.
His day job now is managing and overseeing a team of 80+ originators and support staff in 10 states as the EVP of sales for his parent company Victorian Finance. Shane is constantly working to stay at the bleeding edge of technology and believes that building a personal team and brand are keys to every originator he comes in contact with. “YOU are the brand, not your company” is a key belief to how Shane coaches.
Never turning down a good cup of coffee, Shane can be found outside of work investing in his family. He and his wife and daughter Olivia are found traveling, supporting their local pacific northwest sports teams or being active with their dogs enjoying the outdoors. Shane loves to help Loan Officers break through their issues with team building, brand development, scaling, working ON the biz not IN the biz, agent marketing and more.
The year was 2003 and, looking for a change of pace and to finally start putting down roots, Darren packed up his carry-on, cut up his frequent flyer card, and left his life as a Financial Planner (and weekly travel) to join the local Broker Shop and start originating loans.
After several years of relative ease, this William Jewell College graduate hit a few bumps in the road. Loans became harder and harder to come by and, with the downturn in the real estate market (a.k.a. The Real Estate Bubble), Darren saw the writing on the wall; loan Officers were disappearing, going out of business, or having to find new jobs faster than ever… it was only a matter of time.
And, as a former college athlete who competed at the highest level, Darren knew that in order to get ahead and take his business to new heights, he had to refine the areas in his business that he was lacking, find better opportunities, implement systems and processes, and build a team — but he didn’t have the time to learn it all ‘the old fashioned way’ and still stay in business.
So… he collapsed time and took a shortcut to success — he hired a coach.
Fast forward ten years of intense devotion to a better way, Darren has been in the mortgage business for 15 years and included in an exclusive group of LOs as the Top 1% of all Mortgage Originators for the past 7 consecutive years.
Stepping up to the plate as a mortgage coach in 2013, Darren knocks it out of the park for his clients every day by helping them build rockstar teams, focus on the right things in the right order, dialing in the dollar-productive activities that they enjoy, and helping loan officers find a better way.
As an intense baseball fan, when not leading his mortgage team or coaching loan officers, you can find Darren, his wife, Liz (a.k.a. Chili Pepper), and son, Drew, together in the stands cheering on their home team, the KC Royals.
Alan knew from a very early age he wanted to be an entrepreneur.
He was a competitive body builder and nationally ranked Olympic Weightlifter for many years, where he learned incredible discipline, delayed gratification, going the extra mile, and pushing yourself beyond what others around you believe you can do.
He admits he built his mortgage business all wrong in the beginning, and was ready to quit because of the hours and stress. He made a good living but had no life.
He then got into coaching and reset the course of his business learning how to build a team, processes, systems, and videos, and it has changed his life. He is passionate about helping others see how broken our industry is, and teaching that there is a way to have a balanced life if you build it correctly.
Alan runs a very tight team that supports him in his practice in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and soon to be 3 more states. Outside of running a successful mortgage team, Alan is also an active Real Estate investor who believes in buy and hold. He bought up a large portfolio of rental homes and loves sharing what he has learned.
Alan is married with 4 children. Outside of working in his mortgage business, coaching and speaking, he spends all his time with his family, church and in his community.

I always knew I would have a big career… but when I decided to get married and have kids most of my life goals didn’t disappear but my reason for living life just got bigger!
Figuring out how to balance my work life and my home life has not always been easy… but I have managed to build my brand, live a life that I consider to be successful and my family and kids don’t have to sacrifice for it. Some days that is easier than others, and it takes dedication and boundaries to ensure it all gets taken care.
Let’s get clear on what kind of life you want to lead… not the life you are “supposed to lead” but the one you are truly called to lead, and we can build a system and process to make that a reality.
Jeff Lagoni grew up in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania as the youngest of 5. He was born 2 months premature, and his doctor told his father, “Take the wife or the baby.” His dad said take the kid! He is a fighter and survivor since birth, and as of today still lives each day as if it is a gift.
Jeff grew up playing sports, focusing heavily on wrestling, football and baseball. He went to college and got his Commercial Pilot’s license prior to receiving his Computer Information Systems degree from Indiana University of PA. Jeff was a Software Engineer for 7 years before he got laid off and found himself in the mortgage business.
After grinding in the mortgage business for 13 years, he reached a point where he was working 80+ hours a week. His wife told him that he needed help, so he decided to take a leap and hired a coach.
Nowadays, he has become a not-so-overnight success and happily resides in his home state living a balanced life with his wife & kids, working out daily, and is thriving mentally, spiritually, financially, and in his business.
His motivation is providing for his family and local charities (Youth for Christ, Outdoor Immersion, City Mission and Champion Christian Center) all in the effort to advance God’s kingdom.
He loves to help others grow and become better versions of themselves. His hope is that when he leaves this world people will say how meeting him was impactful in a positive way on their journey.
His happy place is carp fishing at 84 lakes, PA.
Prior to jumping into the mortgage industry, Wes worked in banking. He did everything from outside sales to district management.
In 2015, Wes left his salaried position at the bank and took a commission-only Mortgage Lending position with a local mortgage company. Once Wes completed all his licensing requirements, he reached out to his manager at that time and asked for advice on how to get started. He was told, “Take realtors out for coffee and lunch. But let me know which realtors you are reaching out to, and I will let you know if you are allowed to call them or not.” Wes quickly discovered that this old-fashioned approach wasn’t the best approach and that his manager wasn’t the best leader.
He decided not to take his manager’s advice and went with a different, more modern approach. This was able to help him penetrate his market to where realtors were now reaching out to him wanting to work with him and asking for his advice for their marketing.
Wes then reached out to Next Level Loan Officers for their one on one coaching and this really helped him bulletproof and scale his business to what it is today.
In less than 5 years in the business, Wes has built his own team and now has multiple branches that report to him that are licensed to originate in 8 States.

Wes has written two books for first time home buyers, has started investing in real estate, and is now helping his fellow loan officers by coaching with the Next Level family.
Wes resides in West Virginia with his beautiful wife, Julie, and their awesome children Jordan, Paige, and Emily. And we can’t forget their infamous Bassett Hound Waylon.

Along with being a marketing coach for the Next Level Loan Officers, Frazier is the EVP of Marketing for Victorian Finance, an Independent Mortgage Lender in Pittsburgh, PA. Along with his full-time responsibilities Frazier is also a national speaker, with notable appearances at Gary Vaynerchuk’s Agent 2021, Inman Connect, AIME Broker All-Stars, AIME Fuse, NAMB National, CAR REImagine, HousingWire Engage, UAMP’s Mortgage Expo, Commissions Inc SoCON, EPMX, and Mortgage Executive Magazine’s Mortgage Mastermind. He is also hosts the successful Mortgage X & REAL Podcast and advises various FinTech companies in the industry.
Frazier is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and is married with three children. Outside of work, Frazier enjoys time with his family, being active, and watching sports.
